Our Asset Protection Department is looking for a dynamic Regional Asset Protection Leader who will report to the Assistant Vice President, Asset Protection and Risk Management. This position will be responsible for ensuring that all stores are operating under the Loss Prevention Policies and Procedures of the company.
Please note: this position is to be based in the Midwest.

Responsibilities:
Improve inventory shortage results for stores with shrinkage results outside acceptable norms by educating and training Store Managers and District Managers on guidelines established by the LOss Prevention department at the Store Support Center. Implement an established strategy for improving inventory shortage results for store shrinkage results for stores with shrinkage results outside acceptable norms by working with high shortage stores, Store Managers, District Managers, the Store Support Center and the Loss Prevention department. Also, assist in re-evaluating the strategy when necessary.
Manage company asset controls and procedures by coaching the store Managers and District Managers on shoplifting prevention and enforcing the established shoplifting procedures set forth by the LOss Prevention department.
Oversee company asset controls and procedures in stores by investigating poor disciplines or fraud, related to cash shortages and missing deposits.
Investigate internal theft situations by monitoring cash refunds/exchanges, voids, credit memos and gift certificate frauds using existing and future
computer
exception reports.
Develop successful solutions to theft investigations by educating District Managers or Managers on the interview process. If necessary, travel to the stores to confront suspected associates involved in the investigation.
Ensure critical merchandise thefts and break-ins/robberies are handled effectively by providing Managers or District Managers with actions and/or solutions to these situations in a timely manner.
Effectively resolve potential legal issues (e.g. shoplifting) by obtaining thorough statements from associates, determining any potential legal exposure, instructing the Manager or District Manager on how to resolve issues and/or referring to legal counsel at the Store Support Center for further guidance.
Provide information on new developments to the Loss Prevention department that can be integrated into future departmental programs to increase efficiency and safety in the areas of Loss Prevention and Security.
Maintain customer (internal/external) confidence and protect the Loss Prevention department by keeping information confidential.
Keep the Loss Prevention department at the Store Support Center informed of the department's pace, attuned to the theory of no surprises and in a timely manner by communicating all significant problems and concerns in your area.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess 5 years or more of multi-store Loss Prevention experience. A four- year degree is preferred with a concentration in Business or Criminal Justice studies.

Loss Prevention Foundation LPQ, LPC certification preferred.

Strong interview and interrogation skills are essential for this position (Wicklander or Reid certified). The ability to speak publicly and train others regarding philosophies and procedures is imperative, as well. Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time is required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
