SUMMARY
The Lead Database Software Engineer will help build and implement powerful solutions to support the global marketing and revenue management operations of the company. You will help develop and deliver leading-edge technologies and expansive systems that impact every aspect of our growing businesses. Specifically this position will develop and maintain applications, analytics and reports to assist revenue management in short and long term planning, pricing optimization, and demand forecasting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for developing prototypes and performing complex application coding, testing, deployment and support. This position interprets end-user business requirements to develop and/or modify technical design specifications for custom-developed Revenue Management applications.
Lead project teams in design, implementation, testing and support of various applications.
Broad expertise and skills to resolve a wide range of complex issues
Development of strategic planning for department
Review, analyze and implement business requirements to develop and/or modify custom applications
Define, develop, communicate and implement standards, processes and procedures for the department
Analyze and review software requirements to determine feasibility of a design within time and cost restraints
Provide instruction and technical guidance to less senior team members on new tasks and assignments.
Technical guidance to less experienced Software Engineers
REQUIREMENTS
5
years of experience in Data Warehousing in a large scale computing and networking environment
5
years of experience with base SAS or SAS DI for ETL development
5
years of experience with SQL and the UNIX operating system
Knowledge and hands-on experience with Teradata as well as Teradata Tools and Utilities
Well versed in multiple and various programming languages
Prior application and database performance tuning experience
6
years of Software Engineer experience with a BS, or 2
years of Software Engineer experience with a Master's Degree
Candidate needs to operate from both a big-picture and a tactical viewpoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical content.
Candidate must demonstrate accountability while serving as part of a support rotation
PREFERENCE
Knowledge and use of Tivoli Workload Scheduler is a plus
